Kampusiana, Jumpaonline – Divisi Kementerian Luar Negeri dari Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) FISIP Unpas menyelenggarakan “Jabar Symposium On Social Politic Transformation” yang mengangkat topik tentang Pemilu 2024 dan harapan perubahan Indonesia. Diikuti oleh 13 kampus dari Jawa Barat di Aula Suradiredja Kampus I Unpas Lengkong pada Kamis, 18 Mei 2023.
Rizky Nurzaman, Ketua Pelaksana, menjelaskan, acara ini diadakan karena adanya segmentasi yang terdampak dari pemilu 2024, seperti pemalsuan suara atau kampanye-kampanye tidak sesuai prosedur. Dari masalah-masalah tersebut akan memungkinkan menghasilkan pemimpin yang tidak kompeten dan kebijakan yang dikeluarkan akan berdampak kepada masyarakat. Maka dari itu, adanya acara ini bertujuan untuk mendiskusikan hal tersebut dan menjadi pernyataan sikap dari mahasiswa dalam menghadapi pemilu 2024.
“Urgensi masalahnya kembali lagi ke topik pemilu yang memang akan disegerakan, seperti isu-isu yang memang sudah beredar. Kami akan angkat menjadi sebuah diskusi dan akan menjadi pernyataan sikap,” ujar Rizky.
Rizky menambahkan, kegiatan ini dilaksanakan sebagai sumbangsih bagi mahasiswa maupun masyarakat, agar dapat mengikuti pemilu sesuai prosedur. Hal ini disebabkan karena kemungkinan pemilu 2024 akan dicederai seperti kampanye yang tidak sesuai prosedur.
“Harapan diselenggarakannya acara ini, membuat perubahan dari seluruh elemen mahasiswa FISIP di Jawa Barat mengenai terbentuknya Pemilu Indonesia ke arah demokrasi yang lebih baik,“ jelasnya.
Tedi Gunawan, Presiden Senat Mahasiswa Universitas Majalengka, mengatakan, tujuan dari mengikuti acara ini untuk menghidupkan ruang diskusi yang ada di Jawa Barat dan secara tidak langsung mendapatkan relasi tambahan serta pengetahuan baru.
“Sebetulnya simple satu aja, ingin menghidupkan ruh-ruh sosial yang ada di Jawa Barat, dan terbentuknya ruang-ruang silaturahmi dan koneksi. Selain itu, intelektual pengetahuan yang kita dapatkan dari seminar dan FGD (Focus Group Discussion), kita jadi tau dari sudut politik, ekonomi, dan hukum mengenai politik yang terjadi saat ini,” tutur Tedi.
