Beasiswa, Oh Beasiswa
Beasiswa merupakan dana bantuan belajar yang diberikan kepada siswa maupun mahasiswa. Sumber dananya pun beragam, mulai dari dana yang dianggarkan secara mandiri oleh pihak kampus, maupun kucuran dana dari pihak luar, seperti instansi pemerintah, yayasan maupun perusahaan swasta. Di Universitas Pasundan (Unpas) sendiri, tidak kurang dari 12 instansi telah mengucurkan dananya secara rutin untuk beasiswa, beberapa di antaranya adalah Direktorat Jendral Pendidikan Tinggi, PT. Sanbe Farma, PT. Djarum, Bank Jabar, Bank Mandiri, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Pembangunan Daerah, dll.
Keberadaan dana bantuan tersebut tentunya menjadi barang rebutan di kalangan mahasiswa. Begitu pula dengansosialisasi mengenai tata cara, kriteria dan persyaratan yang harus disiapkan sebelumnya. Hal tersebut bagaikan barang mahal yang kejelasan informasinya sulit untuk diperoleh. Hasil polling Pelma menunjukkan 772 orang dari sekitar 900 sampel suara mahasiswa Unpas mengaku tidak pernah mendapatkan sosialisasi perihal beasiswa tersebut.
Kriteria dari masing-masing instansinya pun beragam. Tidak hanya beasiswa dalam bidang akademik, ada pula beasiswa untuk prestasi non akademik, mahasiswa dengan keadaan ekonomi lemah hingga beasiswa wirausaha mahasiswa pun lengkap keberadaannya di Unpas. Beragamnya patokan verifikasi beasiswa yang ada di Unpas tersebut harusnya bisa menjadi peluang besar terciptanya atmosfer persaingan yang sehat di lingkungan kampus. Hanya saja, lagi-lagi masalah arus komunikasi menjadikan keberadaan beasiswa ini tidak diketahui mahasiswa.
Lempar tangan masalah sosialisasi tentunya bukan lagi hal yang mencengangkan. Namun di luar itu, mahasiswa hanya membutuhkan kejelasan. Beasiswa diperuntukkan bagi mahasiswa, maka bukankah sudah seharusnya mahasiswa mendapatkan informasi yang jelas perihal beasiswa? Haruskah mahasiswa menelusuri sendiri jejak beasiswa? Lantas di mana peranan pihak universitas dalam mensosialisasikan setiap informasi yang harusnya menjadi hak mahasiswa?
