Korea Selatan, Jumpaonline – Senin, 31 Maret 2014 terjadi baku tembak di perairan Korea Utara. Korea Selatan membalas tembakan Pyongyang (Korea Utara) yang sedang melakukan latihan militer. Tidak ada korban jiwa dalam insiden tersebut. Menurut juru bicara militer Korea Selatan, beberapa peluru yang ditembakkan Korea Utara jatuh di daerah Korea Selatan.
“Respon kami membalas tembakan tersebut,”ungkapnya kepada Agence France-Presse.
Sebelumnya Pyongyang juga pernah menembakan roket jarak pendek beberapa minggu lalu, dan menghantam perairan Korea Selatan. Tindakan tersebut mampu meningkatkan ketegangan di Korea Selatan. Tidak hanya itu, tes rudal Korea Utara pada Rabu lalu menembakkan dua rudal jarak pendek jenis ballistik yang jatuh di perairan Jepang.
Ketika tembakan rudal terjadi, Amerika, Korea Selatan dan Jepang sedang mengadakan pertemuan di Belanda mengenai ambisi nuklir Korea Utara.
Profesor Universitas Yonsei Seoul, Jhon Delury mengatakan Korea Utara akan tetap melakukan tes nuklir selama Korea Selatan dan Amerika bergabung melakukan pelatihan militer. “Saya tidak berpikir ini akan berakhir,” ucap Delury. Korea Utara menganggap Korea Selatan sedang bersiap untuk melakukan invasi.
November 2010 silam, Korea Utara pernah menembak pulau di perbatasan Korea Selatan. Penembakan itu mengakibatkan empat korban jiwa dan memicu konflik yang berkepanjangan antara kedua pihak.
