“Djawa adalah kunci…”; “Djam D kita adalah pukul empat pagi…”; “Kita tak boleh terlambat…!” bertahun-tahun terdengar kalimat-kalimat itu meluncur dari mulut sang Dipa Nusantara Aidit atau yang biasa kita kenal dengan D.N.Aidit. Lahir dari keluarga terpandang di Belitung, Sumatera Selatan, 30 Juli 1923. Ayahnya, Abdullah Aidit, adalah Menteri Kehutanan dan Ibunya, Mailan, lahir dari keluarga ningrat.
Aidit pergi merantau ke Batavia dan pada saat itu, situasi politik Ibu Kota sudah menarik minat Aidit sejak awal. Ia bergabung dengan partai Persatuan Timur Muda (Pertimu). Perkumpulan ini dimotori Gerakan Rakyat Indonesia (Gerindo), di bawah pimpinan Amir Syariffudin dan Dr. Ahmad Kapau Gani. Hanya dalam waktu singkat, Aidit diangkat menjadi Ketua Umum Pertimu.
Singkat cerita, kedatangan Muso membuat Aidit begitu terkesan pada gagasannya “Jalan Baru bagi Republik”. Pada pertengahan 1948, Aidit muda ditugasi mengoordinasi seksi perburuhan partai. Hanya sebulan setelah Aidit menerima jabatan koordinator seksi perburuhan partai, tepatnya pada dini hari, 18 September 1948, tiga letusan pistol menyalak di Kota Madiun, Jawa Timur. Muso dan rekan lainnya, termasuk D.N. Aidit mencoba mendirikan apa yang disebutnya “Soviet Republik Indonesia”.
Ini fase penting sekaligus genting bagi karier politik Aidit. Banyak pimpinan partai ditangkap dan ditembak mati, beruntung Aidit berhasil lepas karena tidak dikenali. Tiga tahun karier politik Aidit semakin menurun, Ia pun mengeluarkan para kelompok tua dari partai PKI.
Usaha-usaha D.N Aidit sebagai Ketua Committee Central PKI untuk mengembalikan kepercayaan masyarakat kepada PKI terus dilakukannya, menerbitkan Bintang Merah pada 15 Agustus 1950. Dua pekan sekali mereka meluncurkan stensilan suara rakjat, embrio Harian Rakjat yang menjadi koran terbesar dengan oplah 55 ribu per hari, akhirnya usaha itu berbuah. Pada Pemilihan Umum 1955, PKI berada di urutan keempat. Pada tahun itu juga, partai ini menerbitkan dokumen perjuangan “Metode Kombinasi Tiga Bentuk Perjuangan”. Bentuk pertama, perjuangan gerilya di desa-desa oleh kaum buruh dan petani. Kedua, perjuangan revolusioner oleh kaum buruh di kota-kota, terutama kaum buruh di bidang transportasi. Ketiga, pembinaan intensif di kalangan kekuatan bersenjata, yakni TNI.
Pada 1964, PKI membentuk Biro Khusus yang langsung dibawahi Aidit sebagai Ketua Committee Central PKI. Tugas biro ini mematangkan situasi untuk merebut kekuasaan dan infiltrasi ke tubuh TNI. Sejak 6 September 1965, Sjam yang ditunjuk sebagai pemimpin pelaksana gerakan, lantas menggelar rapat-rapat di rumahnya dan di rumah Kolonel A. Latief, Komandan Brigade Infanteri I Kodam Jaya. Rapat ini hadiri Letnan Kolonel Untung, Komandan Batalyon I Kawal Kehormatan Resimen Cakrabirawa dan Mayor Udara Sudjono, Komandan Pasukan Pengawal Pangkalan Halim Perdanakusuma. Pada 29 September 1965 yang menjadi rapat terakhir menyepakati gerakan dimulai 30 September 1965.
Peristiwa kelam G30S, Gerakan yang diinisiasi dengan tujuan untuk mengkudeta kepemimpinan Presiden Soekarno ini terjadi 30 September 1965 malam. Malam itu, penculikan terhadap tujuh Jenderal dimulai, dengan rencana setiap target akan dieksekusi di tempat. Ketujuh target tersebut adalah Ahmad Yani, M.T Haryono, D.I Panjaitan, Seoprapto, S. Parman, Sutoyo, dan Abdul Harris. Beberapa sejarawan dan sejumlah kalangan militer yakin bahwa PKI yang menjadi dalang penculikan dan pembunuhan tujuh jenderal Angkatan Darat. Ketika PKI terlibat, maka Aidit sebagai Ketua Committe Central, dituding sebagai otaknya.
Buntut dari peristiwa tersebut berpuncak pada 1 Oktober 1965, sebuah operasi yang dikenal dengan Operasi Penumpasan G30S PKI, dipimpin oleh Panglima Kostrad dengan bantuan beberapa pasukan seperti Divisi Siliwangi, Kaveleri, dan Resimen Para Komando Angkatan Darat (RPKAD) di bawah pimpinan Kolonel Sarwo Edhi Wibowo.
Peristiwa 56 tahun lalu itu masih menjadi tanda tanya besar “Sebenarnya apa peran Aidit dalam peristiwa Gerakan 30 September 1965?” .
